One cultivation method of rice that can provide benefits is the Tabela System rice cultivation. This method is rice planting without nursery and seedling transplantation.

The Tabela method has two planting methods, namely directly in rows or planting directly evenly in the planting area.

Steps for Tabela System Rice Planting

You can try implementing Tabela System rice planting following the steps below.

Seed Selection
One important thing before planting rice is selecting high-quality seeds. This stage is also key to success at harvest. There are many types of rice varieties. You can choose seeds that can adapt to high productivity and best quality.

Seed Requirements
There are three requirements related to seeds, namely high quality or those with germination power of more than 90 percent. In addition, choose seeds that are not mixed with other rice types or plant seeds. The amount of seeds that can be used is 25-40 kg.

Land Preparation
Land preparation can start by cleaning the irrigation channels. In addition, clean the land from leftover straw and wild grass. Also, repair the dikes using a hoe. Next, you can spray the land using herbicides.

Planting
In the Tabela method, you can use two types of planting, namely manual and using tools. Arrange the planting distance with a tile spacing of 20 x 20 cm, 25 x 25 cm. In addition, it can also be planted in a leger pattern with a ratio of 2:1 or 4:1.

However, before planting, do seed selection first. Also, provide seed treatment that is useful to ensure that the sown seeds can grow well. Seed treatment also aims to anticipate attacks from rice pests and diseases.

Irrigation
Irrigation using the Tabela method has several settings. Among them are the amount of water must flood the fields evenly, after planting the fields must be dried for 2-3 days gradually.

If the fields are rain-fed, then do the planting at the beginning of the rainy season. At that time, irrigation tends to be easier to control because the rainfall is not too high.

Fertilization
Provide urea inorganic fertilizer at 150 kg/ha and phonska at 350 kg/ha. Fertilization is carried out three times, namely at the age of 7-14 days after planting (DAP) with 25 kg of urea and 50 kg of phonska.

Next, at the age of 35-42 DAP with 75 kg of urea and 100 kg of phonska. Then the last one at the age of 55-60 DAP with 50 kg of urea and 200 kg of phonska.

Spraying or Pest Disease Control
You can control pests and diseases if they have exceeded the economic threshold. You can take preventive measures by spraying botanical pesticides. Do the spraying after entering 1-2 weeks of planting. The spraying interval is every 10-15 days.

Harvesting
Harvesting can only be done if the rice grains are almost entirely yellow or 33-36 days after flowering. Harvesting can also be done manually using a sickle or serrated sickle. Harvesting can also be done with a tool, namely a harvesting machine.

After harvesting and threshing the rice, dry it using a tarpaulin or it can also be dried on a cement drying floor. Dry the rice until it is dry or the rice moisture content reaches about 14 percent. The rice can then be stored or processed into rice.

Those are the easy steps to implement Tabela System rice planting.
